These days, new chemicals and additives are being used to concoct and create different baby items such as soaps, clothing, milk bottles, and even food! Babies are very sensitive to such chemicals as their immune systems are just starting to develop. And when these products are used continuously, it could really affect the health of your baby negatively. This is the reason why more and more parents are leaning towards organic baby products. It has always been questioned whether organic baby products are really worth it. Some people would say, why buy something more expensive if there’s a much cheaper alternative. Well, organic baby products may cost a little bit more than their cheap non organic counterparts but the benefits gained are truly worth the money you spent.

Toys! A childhood is all about playing. Without baby toys can one imagine a childhood to be complete? Do we imagine kids to be smiling without these infant toys? On a rather honest note, toys are something not just for the kids to enjoy, but parents too get a selfish feel with toys. They hand toys to kids and get time enough for themselves while the baby is busy with its toys. Toys not only are a source of entertainment, but also train the developing mind of the kids. Toys are not just for playing, they can as well help in mental and physical developments. The best toys will be the ones that would keep the baby entertained and also help them grow. Have also been a wonderful medium to educate the babies. Baby toys can include the building blocks, baby dolls, night glows, chewing toys, etc.

This trick works so good for coming up with the perfect nursery idea. First think of anything that is your favorite thing/hobby or your families favorite. It could be boating, golfing, mountain climbing, picnics, anything; just DON’T think baby right now. So many people get stuck on the traditional animals and famous characters, etc.. when they think of nursery ideas. What makes people happy is something that they feel an emotional attachment to. So, you will be much happier looking at something that you love and hope the little one will grow up to love too! After you have made a list of your families favorite things sit down and picture them one at a time in a room.
Example: If mountain climbing was one of your favorite things/hobby’s then imagine a handmade mobile made up of climbing gear using baby colors, a mural of a mountain with a climber painted walking up a mountain trail with a baby tucked safely in their backpack. To make it all look “baby-ish” add several miniature items to the room like one of those tiny tent displays from a store (just ask the manager if you can have it when the new model comes out) or baby quilts laying over the rocker with climbing images & the crib bedding too. You could even have kids climbing gear embroidered and hang it up in the room.
If you do go with a mural, make sure you use pastels and only cover one wall. Doing more than one wall and using bright colors is “sensory overload” to babies! Babies need to have a good focal point to practice focusing on and if you put up too much they will be a lot fussier if they are the type of baby that likes things less chaotic. I know that sounds silly but you will see what I mean when you have your baby with you at a public place and they go into total melt down and you can’t figure out why! Their room should be a place to relax and too much stuff is not relaxing to a baby.
You can look on the internet for popular baby nursery themes but what you normally find is that everyone just comes up with a list of generic baby ideas. Very rarely do you find a site that has really unique content. So use what you know best, YOU and your family! Be creative and think outside the box!
Here is a unique list of nursery ideas:
*Golfing
*Boating
*Mountain Climbing
*Camping
*Snow skiing
*Water sports
*Computer related (imagine a big motherboard painted on the wall! Don’t laugh, someone will drool over this one!)
*Guitar or any other instrument (ohhh the mobile ideas are endless!! Guitar picks to start with!!)
*Music (black & white pics of famous singers like Elvis!)
*Hollywood (black & white old movie scene pics or make a star like on the walk of fame with their name!)
*Architecture
*Hippie
*British royalty (what do you imagine Will & Kates nursery will look like?)
*The oval office (prepping that lil one for the presidency?! lol)
